If you do omakase with some drinks, I'd expect $80-100. You can also buy individual dishes and spend less.
Yes they won't take walk ins
Not for kids
Small amazing restaurant. Has an awesome feel and is the greatest food my wife and I have had. Incredible sushi, including some odd sounding dishes like a beef cream cheese jalapeño roll. It's pricey, but you can have a big meal with dessert (without alcohol) for about $100. Could easily be more expensive with alcohol or if you get one of the amazing looking beef tenderloin steaks.
This site is my first choice place. Of all restaurants I know I love it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this restaurant. Whenever I want to go to a special lunch, this restaurant comes instantly to my mind. splendid and many types of food and a rich menu.generous team, and great spirit. Also important, the tariff is reasonable. I sent my friends to this restaurant with no doubt.
Small restaurant of few seats, requiring reservations. Keiichi becomes your personal chef for the evening. He prepares everything while you watch. Your not at a hibachi grill. This is more like a sushi bar in a side street in Tokyo. The setting and food presentations are simple, but the payoff for me was a Beef that melted in my mouth, wrapped around a cream cheese with Jalapeño. You are in Keiichi's house, so you will not see a chef's toque blanche or Japanese chef's jacket. There is no pretention or ostentatious fronts. The restaurant is cozy, quiet, and pleasant. The menu can change on a whim. The food? Well let's just say, I would take a bite, close my eyes, sit back, and smile,........each and every time. This is a Denton experience; one you do not want to miss.
Once I got over the chef handling the food w/ his bare hands...I enjoyed myself. The restaurant was highly recommended and the food was light and delicious but I've had better Japanese experiences at other restaurants. The Japanese beef tips were excellent.
Awesome experience with amazing food!
Absolutely delicious, best sushi I've ever had, we had a great time. The sea trout is a must and the place is very calm and peaceful. It's an awesome experience seeing your food be made in front of you.
Outstanding food and amazing service.
Best meal of my life.
Excellent resturaunt, but beware its not cheap but its a cullinary adventure. The food is all thoughtfully paired with different ingredients to provide a powerful experience. Good for Anniverseries and birthdays but not a everyday place. Book early reservations fillup fast!
The menu and service were ahead of our expectations. We really enjoyed the ambience of this place. First-rate restaurant to take the family out for dinner.
Keichi is the best dining experience in denton county. Over and over again never disappoints
Best Sushi ever! Food great, service extraordinary and Ambience amazing! Hats off to Keiichi Nagano.
Good experience but get a second mortgage. We tried many different items and they were different but good. Don't be scared to try new things because this is not typical high end fare. Live a little the wallet sting goes away with some saki.
Absolutely, hands-down the best sushi I've ever had. Be prepared to pay a little extra, but it is totally worth the experience. Make your reservations a good month in advance, this place is a diamond and books up fast!
Wow! The best Tuna I've ever put in my mouth.
Most amazing experience in what I would call an authentic cuisine. I LOVED THIS PLACE! We took some very finicky friends there and even they were pleased. It’s one of Denton’s best secrets. Make a reservation, for 2 prepare to spend a little bit of change, but so worth it. Looking forward to returning soon!
Very clean, delicious, and fresh. I would recommend the tasting menu.
Our first experience here tonight for my birthday. I was actually feeling sick today but since we had reservations and it only seats 10 we went anyway. Every thing I had was amazing. Steak Tataki, Sashimi, Clam Pasta and the Steak. That steak has to be one of the best I ever had and I have been to a lot of high end steak houses. Can't wait to the go back when I am not feeling sick.
Call ahead reservations only.Need to reserve a month ahead for groups on the weekends. And about 2 weeks ahead for weekdays.Great foodGreat staffAnd the chef works well at his craftA+
WARNING: eating here will ruin sushi for you anywhere else you go.By far the best Sushi restaurant I have been to in TX and probably one of the best I have been to anywhere. So unbelievably fresh, staff is amazing. Sushi Chef is also classic Italian trained so their fusion dishes are unlike anything I have had anywhere else. Their Tiramisu is so creamy (I dont even like Tiramisu, but theirs is fantastic.) It is pricey and you need to get reservations well in advance as it's a small venue which is only open a few hours a day.
Best sushi in Denton and probably in DFW. I love the small counter experience and watching the chef prepare your food. Going back soon! Call ahead for reservations a few weeks in advance. They don't normally take walk-ins.
Last time I was in NYC I ate at a 4 star Sushi bar which couldn't hold a candle to this delectable fare. The chef and staff were professional and personable. But the sashimi was the delight of the year. Do I have to go back to American food?
The best sushi we’ve ever had. So attentive to each customer. Will return again and again. Thanks for such a wonderful night out.
I've been here many times over the years and the food never disappoints. Make your reservations well in advance as he does book up quickly.
Wonderful food, gracious service. It could not be any better.
Make a reservation and go. Bring a lot of money, but go. It is tasty.
Freat tenderloin and Tiramasu
One of the best experiences you will have eating. Small place has only seating for about 12. Need to make reservations about 3 weeks in advance.
Amazing and wonderful food. It was our first time there and it won't be our last. We just let the chef decide what we were going to eat since it was our first time and he didn't disappoint. When making the reservation, I told them it was for my husbands birthday and the service for it was top notch! Love Keiichi!
The three of us went for dinner. It was probably the best sushi I have eaten. The beef tataki is amazing. The chef really cares about the quality and superb plating of each dish. We loved it. Make sure to make a reservation.
I'm not a critic or expert but I know what tastes good. This was a huge step up from the sushi I've had in the past. Watching the gentleman prepare it was even better. Definitely going back soon.
Loved the chef choice appetizers. Wasn't a big fan of the pasta.
Good, fresh fish. Good mix of fusion food and classic sushi. The sashimi plate is great for two. The mustard green salad is amazing... Tiramisu was very rich, and served with coffee upon request... and probably the only public bidet seat in Denton! Don't come for the rolls!
Unbelievably awesome food and friendly service. Hands down the best tasting and freshest sushi ever.
The food is unique and fresh with a variety of salads, soups, entrees (including steak, pasta, and best of all sashimi and sushi), and dessert. Everything is delicious. If you have any room left at all, try the tiramisu! The atmosphere is quaint and it feels like a hidden jewel in town. Make reservations. You won't be disappointed, but do plan to spend $$$.
Love it, everything a dining experience should be. Chef's choice is the only way to go. We have standing reservations!
This has to be the best sushi I have ever had. Would love to go back anytime
The most creative, delicious sushi in north Texas, including Dallas, in a very intimate (16-18) person setting. Be prepared to spend for it; dinner with drinks is easily $100 pp. Interestingly, given the chef's background includes Italian cooking, his pastas are second to none. Seems an odd choice given the prevalence of seafood choices, but it is worth a try, believe me.
Excellent! Make a reservation for a special occasion. Only room for about a dozen people at a time. One of the best kept secrets in Denton county.
This location will always hold a special place in my heart. When I was in college, some ten years ago, I had my first authentic experience with sushi with Chef Ki. Never before, and rarely since, have I had such extraordinary sensory food experiences. Chef is dedicated to bringing delicate, perfect dishes together that have meaning. I heartily recommend this restaurant for couples. The intimate atmosphere is so authentic and unusual. Please be sure to book this restaurant for a special night with you and your loved one.
My wife and I went for her birthday a few years back, and it's still memorable. We were seated at the bar where you watch him prepare everything and that in itself was amazing. My wife ordered some sushi rolls that were incredible, and I got the filet mignon. Hands down the best steak I've ever had! Flavor was incredible! Will definitely be returning here!
Best sushi I've ever had period, can't wait to go back.
Have lived in area for last five years and have only heard of this gem! Finally got a last minute reservation and all the hype lived up! Simply amazing! The chefs special and various sushi is amazing flown in weekly and super fresh chef K and Mei Lau and Tara great hosts. The steak is actually one of best I’ve ever had; very unique and sauce is amazing with truffle mashed potatoes. Is hard place to get into reservations required way in advance only reason we have not tried it yet... amazing small venue!
To watch chef keiichi prepare food made it twice as much tastier but without a doubt, keiichi, tucked away in Denton is definately one of the best Japanese sushi bars in the US.
Absolutely the best! Chef K is a genius!!!
Enjoyed our anniversary dinner at Keiichi. Tried several cocktails, but mt favorite was a pina colada martini... it had all the fresh pineapple and coconut flavors without being overly sweet or creamy. We were recommended a beef "sushi" roll, i was highly skeptical but it was amazing. Our server also recommended the tuna avacado roll, it was a bit messy but delicious. Our main dish was a creamy pasta with mushrooms. It was so good and very filling. Finished the evening with ice cream. I can't remember what it was called, but it tasted like toasted sesame and i loved it. I would definitely recommend Keiichi for anyone wanting a special meal.
Very small restaurant but the food is amazing! You will definitely drop a pretty penny there and need to make a reservation. The beef tataki is the best I've ever had. I don't think you could go wrong ordering anything off of the menu, which is an eclectic mix of sashimi, sushi, steak, and Italian.
The freshest and best tasting sushi/sashimi I've ever tasted! Small/quaint seating and very clean. Ability to watch Chef Keiichi prepare everything infant of us. **Reservations* are a must because of the popularity and quality of food/service. HIGHLY recommend!!!
One of the best sushi places I've eaten. A full dinner for two can easily cost around $200 if not more. Make reservations 2-3 months ahead of time.
Outstanding sushi as well as several scratch made Italian pasta options make this place truly a one of kind experience.
